Society of Illustrators 3 on 3 Night

March 15, 2007

3 on 3 Bunny
by Mike Stone
Bunny in pumps… before you judge,
keep in min
d that she was really dressed like that.

Jason Raish’s 3 on 3 Night Sketch
by Jason Raish

A bunch of us (designers at Indie Industries; Mike Stone – Final Vendetta, Jason Raish – 10 Tigers, Matt Atkins – Mochilicious, Diana – Indie Industries) went to the Society of Illustrators 3 on 3 night in NYC. It’s a really cool and super fun event on every 3rd Thursday of the month. It includes 3 nude models, live jazz and a buffet (with a bar!) It doesn’t get much better than eating, drinking, listening to great music and sketching with your buddies… all for $20/person.
check out their site: http://societyillustrators.org

The really cool part, was seeing our different styles and interpretations of the same exact models. I’ll post all of our versions up soon so you can compare and contrast and all that good stuff.

Also, comment on them… good or bad, we love input and ideas! Keep in mind that I am not a trained illustrator, and Jason and Matt are both professional illustrators… so with that , I should get a few extra credit points for trying (so you better like mine the best.) – Mike Stone, Designer

MOCHICLICIOUS CONTEST!

March 2, 2007

Mochilicious Logos

Here’s a few sketches I drew up for Mochilicious’ new logo, it’s our fun/cute label that will also feature our first kids’ line. mikeSK’s famed “Pirate Girl” series which include “Balloon Girl” and “” will all be moving to Mochilicious. The ones with the check marks below them are the favorites so far… let me know which ones you like and why by commenting on this blog below… create a story about them and give him/her a name! Sweeeeet. THANKS!

Hey! As a special ‘thanks’ for voting for your favorite logo, I’ll send the first Mochilicious logo tee to the best/funniest comment! (make sure to leave your email so I can contact you if you win!) – Mike Stone, Designer

mikeSK joins forces with Final Vendetta

March 1, 2007

mikeSK logo
original mikeSK logo

We’ve only been around for a little over a year and it’s been a wild ride. From one designer (who was still taking classes at F.I.T.) with just one design… that one retail buyer wanted to buy 2,000 units of… mikeSK indie revolution was born. Six months later the one man team grew into a real company… with 8 independent designers… a full-time production manager… and a New York City showroom and design studio… all while keeping the indie spirit alive. Some highlights included three fashion shows in NYC and San Francisco, being invited to both NY and SF Fashion Week as the new trend in streetwear and showing at both MAGIC (Las Vegas) and ASR (San Diego).

new Final Vendetta logo

Along the short but fun ride (which has been one of the greatest experiences for many of us), we created a spin-off line… Final Vendetta. It is an edgier, fresher and slightly more serious perspective on design than it’s big mama, mikeSK. While working on both mikeSK and Final Vendetta, we realized that instead of working on two lines, and spending half our efforts on each one, we could create a better overall brand, design and the ultimate goal… better clothes… by joining forces.

We’re keeping mikeSK’s logo and mixing in the Final Vendetta name. We’ll still keep our solid designs, which have become the objects of affection to our mighty and loyal customers and the remaining mikeSK indie revolution tees and hoodies will be sold at our sample sales… which are sure to become collectors items. But, there’s no need to fear… we’ve put together the best of both labels and we promise that you’ll love the new Final Vendetta more than you thought you could ever possibly love your clothes.

Designer Profile – Stephen Workman

January 14, 2007

Stephen Workman

Our new lovechild brand, Final Vendetta has a new indie designer… Stephen Workman.

Born in Utah Stephen studied fine art at the Acaedmy of Art University in San Francisco. Painting, drawing, and sculpting are what keeps this cat the happiest. He spent two years in Mexico and brings a spicy edge to his work. His work is mostly figurative and always deep. He now lives in New York breaking his way into the art, modeling, and fasion market. We are pleased and lucky to have him on board creating work that can be found in Final Vendetta’s newest collection. He’s a fun guy so if you see him out and about say hi, it may be the best thing to happen to you.

What does a fine artist have to do with a clothing line you ask? We take this sketches and drawings… burn them onto silkscreens… add a little fabric ink and slap them onto our fine tees and hoodies… check them out…

Help us welcome Stephen to the family (by posting a blog comment), and tell him what a great job he’s doing (or not, if you think he needs a spanking.)
